Aron is a PhD student that Michiel and Prof. Bert Sels co-supervise.
He integrated a process that makes hexanes in ... hexane as a solvent (light naphtha that is).
The petro stream is thus enriched in bioC, up to 10%, and can be further processed in the classic refinery, by zeolite isomerization. 14-C dating was used to confirm the bio enrichment vs the fossil origin of the solvent carbon.
Aron will defend his PhD in november.
